The Building
Artful landscaping both inside and outside softens the industrial feel and brings Showplace East in step with its place as the new centerpiece of the San Francisco design community. This 1940's corrugated steel, partial wood fill structure gives a nod to its industrial roots as a former airplane factory by retaining some of the original architectural details such as vaulted ceilings, exposed trusses and cement floors. Built to the highest standards, the current remodel began in the year 2000 with system upgrades that include new electrical systems, plumbing systems, fire safety and sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, and a total seismic retrofit. Additional amenities include on-site storage, a parking garage for preferred clients and secured public restrooms.
